Welcome to the Grove Inn.
NORTH DEVON's BEST PUB - North Devon Food & Drink Awards 2005/06 & 2006/07
OVERALL WINNER - North Devon Food & Drink Awards 2006/07
We've always enjoyed a great country pub but found them becoming all the
more scarce as they are replaced with pub chains offering mass-produced,
frozen food and sadly no welcome. So in 2002, after many years of working
and living in London, we decided to leave our desk jobs and open the type of
country pub we enjoy - great beer, locally sourced homemade food, an open
fire or two and importantly that welcome! Our search for the right pub took
12 months with our journey ending in Kingsnympton* at the Grove Inn.
*Historically this is the correct way to write the village name
The Grove Inn is a beautiful 17th Century Grade II Listed Thatched Inn set
in the middle of the unspoilt North Devon conservation village of
Kingsnympton. Kingsnympton's location is ideal for touring Dartmoor, Exmoor
and both coastlines of Devon or you could just simply explore the immediate
countryside which offers some great walks with fantastic views. When you
visit the Grove Inn you can enjoy a warm welcome, a warm open fire during
the colder months, any of our Real Ales, Real Ciders and our extensive
selection of Wines including some of Devon's Best Wines. This all
accompanies our menu which is always cooked using the freshest Devon
produce.
We are very proud to say that the efforts of ourselves and the brigade of
staff has been rewarded with the title of North Devon's Best Pub for the
second consecutive year and Overall Winner in the North Devon Food & Drink
Awards.
If you visit the Grove for a drink or stay longer for something to eat we
hope you enjoy your time with us. Should you wish to make a holiday of it
please call as we can recommend a number of quality places offering either
Bed & Breakfast or Self Catering Accommodation in and around the village. Or
visit our links page where we've listed some of the best.
We hope to see you in the near future.
